Dispensing a Blank or Custom Item

Blank dispensing can be used if an item cannot be found through Dispense Works or in Dispense Works by dispensing using Full Product File. It is intended to be used when dispensing a new product that does not exist in Dispense Works, for unlisted repat items where Full Product File may not be suitable such as 'variety packs' (e.g., different flavours of the same item), for compassionate supply dispensing, or as an alternative to Extemporaneous Compounding dispensing.

1.Begin dispensing as usual by selecting a patient

2.Type 'blank' or 'unlisted item' into the Drug Search bar

3.Select the appropriate PBS code (V99F for DVA patients)

4.Enter the Total Cost of the item (this is excluding mark-up)

5.Enter in the Item Description

6.Continue dispensing as normal

7.On completion of the dispensing process, a final prompt will be shown, reminding users that no stock movement will occur - this will need to be done manually through Dispense Works
